LA River at Fletcher
My husband Tom took this picture at the height of the storm on Wed (1/20). I find it alive and exciting; also a damn good photo, made seamlessly from four different photos. For those of you unfamiliar with the LA River, the current is usually a meek mouse of a tributary, not this raging lion. The islands that sometimes serve as campgrounds for LA's homeless are completely under water, and the ducks and herons have flown to safety (but where I wonder?). You can find more of Tom's photos at his flickr account: http://flickr.com/photos/trexharjo/
GREAT photo, Tom! It's so nice to see our river actually flowing and in such a dramatic way!
